WS FTP Tutorial
Step 1 - Launch the program

Either double click on the WS_FTP icon on the Desktop:

or from the Start Menu choose Programs and search for the program name
there.
Step 2 - Access a remote server
There are several ways to access a server. One easy way is
to select the Quick Connect button on the popup window.

Quick Connect will bring up another popup window. You are prompted under
the Name/IP Address heading to enter the name of the server that you wish
to log onto, for example: jaguar.ecst.csuchico.edu, or (for
tiglon only) ect-unix.csuchico.edu.

Next under Host Type choose Automatic detect.

Under User ID enter your login name.

Under Password enter your password.

Then press enter or click the OK button.
Step 3 - Selecting directories

WS FTP's GUI has two main windows. The left window displays directories
and files on your Local System. The right window displays directories and
files on the Remote Site.

Select the file or directory to FTP in one window and the location to transfer
to in the other window.
Step 4 - Transferring the files

Highlight the file or files you wish to transfer by single (left) clicking
on them.

Open the location or directory you wish to transfer the selected files
to in the other window.

Select the transfer type from the radio buttons, either ASCII or Binary.

Click one of the arrow buttons to begin the transfer, the direction of
the arrow indicates the direction that the files will be transferred to.
