New Associate Dean

Dr. James “Jim” Prince
Ph.D., botany (plant molecular biology), Cornell University (1991)

Dr. Prince was a professor of molecular genetics in the Department of Biology at Fresno State, and he served as the Interim Associate Dean in the College of Science and Mathematics, chair in the Department of Biology and in the Department of Viticulture and Enology, faculty fellow in the Division of Graduate Studies, and as a member and Deputy Chair of the CSUPERB Faculty Consensus Group (FCG) and Strategic Planning Council (SPC).

Jim’s research areas include:  plant molecular genetics and crop improvement; linkage mapping and the analysis of the plant genome; genetic diversity at the molecular level; the genetic basis for plant disease resistance, and the sensitive identification of plant pathogens.
