Holly Kralj, DNP, CNM, PHN, IBCLC

Associate Professor in the School of Nursing 

Holly Kralj is pleased to be joining the CSU, Chico faculty as an Associate Professor in Nursing this fall. Holly has been teaching in the School of Nursing since 2002 as a part-time lecturer. Her specialty is Maternal/Child Nursing and Public Health, but she has also taught courses in fundamentals, role theory, leadership, and women’s health. Holly holds a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies from CSUC and completed her Bachelors in Nursing in 1998. Holly completed her Master’s in Nursing and Midwifery at UCSF in 2001, and completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at University Hawaii, Manoa in 2014. She was the recipient of the Dean’s Research Award for her doctoral work Creating Pathways of Care which focused on increasing community screening and treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Holly has worked extensively in Butte County as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She also is certified as a Lactation Consultant, and has given numerous presentations on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Best Practice for supporting the breastfeeding dyad. She is a member of the First 5 steering committee for the Mothers Strong Collaborative and has worked diligently within the community to increase access to safe and compassionate care for women and families. Holly is married and has two grown sons, an 8 year old daughter, and a 3 year old foster daughter.
