California Science Project
Inland Northern, under the direction of Dr. Bev Marcum, provided summer science professional development programs for teachers in summer 2012. To highlight one program, the Water and Watersheds one-week institute, hosted on the CSU, Chico campus, served over thirty Northern California K-12 teachers. The institute focused on CA Science Standards and making curriculum meaningful. These teachers examined water and its properties, methods for using Google Earth for watershed activities, understanding water contaminates and treatments, affects of climate change on sea levels, and much more. This type of program is a prime example of the quality professional development opportunities being offered by our faculty and made available to area teachers.
