CSU Chico's California Nursing Students' Association Charity Ball Raises $3,200

charityball On the night of February 24, 2012 the California State University Chico Chapter of the California Nursing Students’ Association (CNSA) hosted the 1st Annual Charity Ball benefiting Alpine Homes. Alpine Homes is a group of three different homes/facilities in Paradise, CA that serve medically fragile children and adults through the course of their lives. During the CSU Chico nursing program pediatric clinical rotation, nursing students are able to visit these homes and care for the individuals who permanently live there. Touched by the Alpine Homes facilities, members of the CNSA, CSU Chico nursing students and CSU Chico faculty worked together to raise approximately $3,200 in their name. This precious gift will be put toward purchasing a six-person accessible van which has a wheelchair lifting device installed. This will enable staff to transport all patients from one home, in the same vehicle, at the same time; thereby tackling a large transportation issue Alpine Homes currently faces.
