In 2006, Jack Rawlins established the Rawlins Environmental Fellowship which has as its principal goal recognizing outstanding student research or projects that raise environmental awareness or directly contribute to increasing sustainability at both the local and global levels.
Past Recipients
Fall 2008: Energy Conservation Awareness Campaign

November 20, 2008 - Five public relations seniors were awarded the fall 2008 Jack Rawlins Environmental Prize for their Energy Conservation Awareness Campaign. Seniors Ashley Gunther, Elise Watkins, Emilie Johnson, Jessica Mindt and Katelyn Davis created an awareness campaign to educate California State University, Chico students about the importance of energy conservation. In addition to the $6,000 prize, which the students will share, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has offered to pay for the expenses of the campaign.

Spring 2008 : Solar Cooking in Kenya

May 9, 2008 - Melissa Dalzell, a senior in psychology, has been selected as the recipient of the spring 2008 Rawlins Sustainability award for her work with a home for children in Kenya. She plans to assist them in obtaining solar cookers for the center.
