Apply for Graduation - Nursing

1) View and complete your Degree Progress Report through your portal account. For instructions click here: Request an evaluation of courses. The Degree Progress Report provides access to current student academic record information, including completion of major and university graduation requirements.  The Degree Progress Report will be utilized as the official major clearance form and basis for final graduation evaluation.

2) Graduation fees are due one year prior to graduation. All students apply and pay for graduation online. Go here to get the graduation application: http://www.csuchico.edu/evaluations/forms/grad_app.shtml

2nd Baccalaureate students only: Fill out a Major Clearance form and submit it to the School of Nursing office.

Academic Evaluators are available to answer questions regarding eligibility for graduation.  They are located in the Student Services Center, Room 120 - Phone:  530-898-5957 - e-mail: evaluations@csuchico.edu - Days and hours by phone or drop-in:

Mon, Wed, Thurs:  10:00 a.m.  - 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Tuesdays, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Friday (phone calls only): 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Ordering Nursing Pins - The pins are ordered 2-1/2 months in advance of graduation.
For 5th Semester students: a student representative is elected to distribute the ordering forms to all classmates. You will return the completed form back to her/him. You will receive a discount for ordering as a group.
For graduating RNs: If you wish to purchase a nursing pin, please contact Jeannie Howell in the nursing office. She will e-mail the order form to you and will provide further instructions. If you place your order prior to the deadline date (varies each semester), you will be eligible to receive the group discount.

Attending the Pinning Ceremony - All graduating nursing students can participate in the Pinning Ceremony (regardless if you order a pin or not). It is held at 4:00 p.m. on the Friday of finals week each semester. This is a beautiful ceremony, held on campus, either in the Bell Memorial Union building or in Laxson Auditorium. The ceremony is very meaningful to families, so participate if you can.

If you wish to participate in the pinning ceremony in May, please contact Peggy Rowberg, mrowberg@csuchico.edu, at least 2-1/2 months prior to graduation.

If you wish to participate in the pinning ceremony in December, please contact Darcy Lewis, hostetdj@ah.org, at least 2-1/2 months prior to graduation.

Commencement Ceremony - Participating in the Commencement ("walking") is separate from the Pinning Ceremony. It is held at University Stadium on either Saturday or Sunday after finals. You will need to register to participate in the commencement ceremony. Review the Commencement Information website for more information.
