Field Studies Merit Project Award
Priority of Consideration:
- To attend a field station or participate in a summer field
experience of the applicant's choice, for credit.
- To conduct field studies and/or collections by regular session
students enrolled in Special Problems (BIOL 399), Independent Study
(BIOL 697), or other course with significant independent field work.
- Any California State University , Chico student may apply.

Holt 205.
- Complete form due by March 1
in the department office.
- Ask three individuals who are familiar with your abilities and
work habits to write letters of recommendation.
- IF the project will be for a Special Problems (BIOL 399) or
Independent Study (BIOL 697), one letter should be from a professor
supervising your project
- A short grant proposal (describing the background, question, and
method) along with a precise budget must accompany the application.
Awards:
- Awards will be announced at the end of the Spring semester.
- The amounts awarded will vary in size depending on the project
and the availability of funds.
- Awards for canceled courses must be returned to the Department of
Biological Sciences Academic Funding Committee.
- A summary report must be submitted to the Committee upon
completion of the activity.
