Orientation & New Student Programs

Schedule and Fees

Spring Orientation is a half-day program on Friday, November 17, 2017.  The cost to attend is $30 and helps us cover staffing, facility reservations, and material costs.  Due to space restrictions, the Orientation session is limited to students only. We cannot accommodate family and guests.



Please allow for plenty of time for parking since school will be in session. Please park your car according to campus regulations or risk receiving a ticket. For more details, please visit our Parking page

9:00-10:00 a.m.                      

Early Check-in - BMU Atrium

  • Check in during this period if you wish to get your photo taken for your Wildcat ID card and sign up for Wildcat Sync, your campus engagement network

10:00-10:15 a.m.           

Final Check-in for Orientation - BMU Atrium

  • Late arrivals can pick up folders but will not have time to get their Wildcat ID or sign up for Wildcat Sync

10:15 a.m.                      

BMU Auditorium Opens

  • Help yourself to coffee
  • Seating is by college
  • Get ready to learn more about your new campus community

10:30 a.m.                     

Program begins in BMU Auditorium

  • Welcome & Introductions
  • Academic Life: Learn what it takes to graduate on time, how to select and register for spring classes and other essential information about your academic program.
  • Student Life: Explore ways to build your resume and get the most out of your time here at CSU, Chico

12:00-1:00 p.m.             

Lunch & Campus Resource Fair

  • Enjoy a deconstructed box lunch
  • Get your questions answered by staff from key offices such as Financial Aid, Student Financial Services, Admissions, Academic Advising and more!

1:00-2:30 p.m.                

Major Department Meetings

  • You’ll be led to your major department for an informational welcome/visit
  • Meet other students, faculty and staff in your major

2:30 & 3:00 p.m.                

Optional Campus Tours (weather permitting)

  • Tour our beautiful campus with an experienced student tour guide
  • Depending on demand, tours will launch every half hour from the BMU Foyer (just outside the auditorium)
