Preparing for Orientation

Before Orientation:

  • Activate your Chico State Portal Account(opens in new window). If you need assistance, please contact Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) at (530) 898-4357.
  • Accept your offer of admission and submit your "intent to enroll" with your non-refundable $200 deposit or certified exemption by November 15, 2018.
  • Make sure that your email and mailing address are current. Your Wildcat email account is the official mode of communication for CSU, Chico. Check your Wildcat account regularly for important information and updates.
  • Check the “to-do” list in your Portal to determine if any transcripts or documents are outstanding. The Office of Admissions must receive all final transcripts by February 15, 2019.
  • If you have outstanding coursework needed to meet admission requirements, you must submit proof of completion before you will be able to register for classes.
  • Obtain immunization records and make copies to bring to Orientation. Originals are not accepted.
  • If you applied for financial aid, check your portal for award information. You may still apply for aid by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)(opens in new window).
  • If you are a student with a disability, contact the Accessibility Resource Center to arrange for accommodations for the Spring semester at arcdept@csuchico.edu or (530) 898-5959.

Day of Orientation:

  • Plan to arrive early to allow time for parking as school will be in session and parking may be limited. Check out campus parking information and maps.

    • Unofficial back-up copies to assist with course planning during Orientation
    • Official sealed copies for Admissions (unless you have already submitted them)
  • Bring a photo ID if you wish to have your picture taken for your Wildcat student ID card.
  • Bring copies of your immunization records (originals are not accepted). You may also submit these when you arrive in spring if you prefer.
