Orientation & New Student Programs

Can’t Come to Orientation?

It is strongly recommended that all new students attend a full orientation session if possible. These sessions provide comprehensive advising assistance to new students and the earliest possible access to class registration. If you are unable to attend summer orientation we have two other options available:

Express-Orientation sessions will be offered in late July and early August to help students understand academic requirements. Students will learn about graduation requirements, general education requirements, policies and procedures and learn how to prepare and register for an appropriate load of classes. Express-Orientation information and registration will be posted mid-summer. Please Note: This orientation option does not include registration for classes. Contact Academic Advising for further inquiries: (530) 898-5712.

Online Orientation

For those unable to attend either a full orientation session or a Express-Orientation, pre recorded versions of some orientation information and welcome videos are posted at: Online Orientation. For instructions on how to register for classes go to Step-by-Step Guide to Registration. Please Note: This orientation option does not include registration for classes. Contact Academic Advising for further inquiries: (530) 898-5712.

Parent Workshops

For those parents who are unable to attend an orientation session, we have many of our Parent/Guest workshops available from past summers available for viewing online at the Regional & Continuing Education website's Summer Orientation Workshops page.

In addition to the videos available on the RCE website, we have the following presentations available to view:
