Orientation & New Student Programs

Freshman Program Details

Enrolling in a university is one of life’s major steps, and we want to help you experience an enjoyable and smooth transition into college and your next 4 years.

We strongly encourage you to attend a Summer Orientation session to introduce you to the CSU, Chico community and to prepare you for your university career. The Summer Orientation staff is here to help you build a strong foundation for a successful Chico experience.

For more details, go to What to Expect and Preparation for your Orientation. You may also want to download the following Orientation checklist, in PDF form: Freshman Checklist

For the optimal orientation experience, choose an orientation date when your major will be represented in order to receive advising in your proposed major. If you are undeclared, you may attend any session and you will receive advising from professional advisors in the Academic Advising office. Refer to the Session Dates link for specific college and department advising dates.
