Orientation & New Student Programs

Day of Orientation

The parent/guest program is a separate concurrent program. To help you get the most out of your parent/guest orientation, while your student is in their session, we suggest the following:

  • Bring a pen/pencil and a notepad so you can take notes and jot down questions.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for very warm Chico summer weather. However, we also recommend you bring a sweater or sweatshirt, as some of the air-conditioned buildings may get chilly! Check the Weather!
  • Make sure to park in the designated lots and bring exact change or a credit card in order to utilize the parking permit dispenser unit. Click here for information about Parking and Directions To Campus.
  • Need lodging accommodations or travel information? Check out our Lodging section for recommendations in the local Chico area.
  • Students and/or guests with disabilities who need special accommodations should contact the Summer Orientation Office Coordinator at least 10 days prior to attending a scheduled Orientation session.
  • Be ready to learn a wealth of information!
