Mixed Media by Christine Fulton
7:00 AM
Christine Fulton graduated from CSU, Chico in 2005 with a BFA. She was co-director and founder of the Crux Artist Collective in Chico. Working in several mediums--including painting, drawing, printmaking, performance, and installation--allows Fulton to explore fully a given theme, usually an emotion (e.g., love, sadness, nostalgia). Her figurative paintings primarily utilize the female form along with costume, animals, dolls, and other iconography. Often whimsical and fantastical, Fulton's work combines a vivid color palette with somber, melancholic figures. Her performance art--always site specific and extremely dramatic--incorporates original prop construction, set painting, and puppeteering. Some of Fulton's work can be found at www.cruxarts.com.
The Humanities Center Gallery is located in Trinity Hall on the CSU Chico campus. For further information about the gallery and this exhibition, call 898-4642.

Enter the Guardsman is a clever romp through what is ultimately a love story. The story follows an on and off stage married couple whose love life is suffering from the rigors of the “wicked stage.” When roses and love letters appear, intrigue begins. The show takes a light-hearted yet perceptive look at the nature of courtship and marriage and you might see yourself in the characters onstage.
Long-time CSU, Chico favorites Kevin Muster and Allison F. Rich play the couple in this charming story of love and confusion. Rich played the amazing Penelope Pennywise in last fall’s Urinetown, The Musical, while Muster was a hit as Jack in The Importance of Being Earnest in the spring.
