Joe has been director of Public Affairs and Publications since 1997. He was formerly associate director of University Relations at University of the Pacific and news editor of the zoned editions of the Sacramento Bee. He has an MA in communication from UOP and an MS in psychology from CSU, Chico.

Marion assists with all publications and is the editor of Chico Statements, our magazine for alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the University. She was the former managing editor of Quality Digest and has a Master of Public Administration from CSU, Chico.

Anna came to Public Affairs in 2006 after a stint at the Paradise Post, where she was a copyeditor. She is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and has a certificate in literary editing and publishing from CSU, Chico.

Casey HuffCasey Huff

Casey copyedits all major campus publications with an off-campus audience and some important internal publications. He also manages updates for the Public Affairs website and several of the University’s secondary web pages. He has a BA and MA in English from Chico State and coordinated the certificate in literary editing & publishing for the department from 2001 to 2010. He is a member of the Quoin Collective, a letterpress group that prints poetry broadsides in Chico.

Kathleen assists with media relations and edits Inside Chico State, a newsletter for faculty and staff of CSU, Chico and produces the Excellence brochure. Kathleen graduated from the University of Oregon, has an MAT from Eastern Oregon College and a master's in English from Chico State, where she also taught English for 12 years. She taught with California Poets in the Schools for many years and was formerly a field representative for Congressman Mike Thompson when he was a state senator.

Kate edits the Campus and Student Announcements, provides web content management and tech support for several department websites including CSU, Chico News, and manages the University’s social media sites. She also provides administrative support for the department. Kate previously spent two years working in the Office of University Communications at San Francisco State University while pursuing a master’s degree in Japanese. Prior to that, she was an associate editor at a bilingual English-Japanese newspaper in San Francisco. She earned her BA from University of California, Berkeley in Japanese in 2007.
