Joe has been director of Public Affairs and Publications since 1997. He was formerly associate director of University Relations at University of the Pacific and news editor of the zoned editions of the Sacramento Bee. He has an MA in communication from UOP and an MS in psychology from CSU, Chico.
Editor of Chico Statements
Marion assists with all publications and is the editor of Chico Statements, our magazine for alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the University. She was the former managing editor of Quality Digest and has a Master of Public Administration from CSU, Chico.
Digital Communications Coordinator
Anna produces and manages digital content and multimedia for university websites and social media. She also serves as the university copyeditor. She came to Public Affairs in 2006 after stints as a sous chef, baker, wine rep, educational assessment test scorer, and newspaper copyeditor, among others—which makes her that much more grateful to be settling into a career at CSU, Chico. Anna is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and has a certificate in literary editing and publishing from CSU, Chico.
Public Affairs Coordinator
Sarah is editor of Inside Chico State, an online faculty and staff newsletter, and serves as a media contact for the University. She moved to Chico in 2012 after serving for four years as communications specialist for the Association of California Water Agencies in Sacramento. She has also served as magazine editor for the California Building Industry Association and editor/reporter for The Loomis News. Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in English from California State University, Long Beach.
Administrative Support Coordinator
Kate edits the Campus and Student Announcements, provides web content management and tech support for several department websites including CSU, Chico News, and manages the University’s social media sites. She also provides administrative support for the department. Kate previously spent two years working in the Office of University Communications at San Francisco State University while pursuing a master’s degree in Japanese. Prior to that, she was an associate editor at a bilingual English-Japanese newspaper in San Francisco. She earned her BA from University of California, Berkeley in Japanese in 2007.
