New Foreign Travel Accident Policy

Effective immediately, The California State University Risk Management Authority has created a blanket Foreign Travel Liability Insurance Program providing extensive coverage for foreign travel, including but not limited to, General Liability and Travel Accident and Sickness Coverage. The cost is mandatory for all faculty, staff, and student international travel. For more details, please contact Risk Management at ext. 6588.

Outstanding Thesis and Outstanding Project Annual Competition

In 1988, the Graduate School initiated the Outstanding Thesis Award to give special recognition to the graduate student who had authored the most significant piece of research as their culminating activity in a master’s program across the disciplines. In 1991, the Outstanding Project Award was instituted to recognize the most creative scholarship conducted by a master’s candidate enrolled in 699 project units for their culminating activity.

Nominees for the 2007 Outstanding Thesis or Project Award must have graduated with their master’s degree in the spring, summer, or fall of 2007. Each college may submit a maximum of one thesis and/or one project nomination. The deadline for each college to submit one copy of the nominated thesis and/or project with the completed applications to the Graduate School is 5pm on Friday, February 29, 2008.

Wildcat Athletics Games This Weekend

The Wildcat basketball teams are at home this weekend in Acker Gym. CSU, Chico hosts Cal Poly Pomona on Friday (Jan. 11) and Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday (Jan. 12). Anonymous 4, with Special Guests Darol Anger and Scott Nygaard, Perform Classic American Music, Jan. 27

Join the members of Anonymous 4 on Sun., Jan. 27, 2008 in Laxson Auditorium as they embark on a journey into Americana, along with special guests Darol Anger on fiddle and mandolin, and Scott Nygaard on guitar. Their fall tour, entitled the “Long Time Traveling” features lyric folk songs and religious ballads, spiritual and gospel hymns and folk blues which were recorded on their two previous albums American Angels, and Gloryland. Highlights will include haunting versions of “Poor Wayfaring Stranger,” a wildly different setting of “Shall We Gather at the River,” and Anonymous 4’s arrangements of gospel favorites “Just Over in the Gloryland,” and “Green Pastures.”

Tickets are: $23 Premium, $18 Adult/Senior, $16 Student/Child $14

Homecoming Hospitality Receptions and Basketball Game, Feb. 1

Homecoming is returning to California State University, Chico. Join the Chico Chapter of the CSU, Chico Alumni Association to kick off Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Feb. 1 for hospitality receptions and a seatback seat at the CSU, Chico vs. UC San Diego men’s and women’s basketball games. There will be three receptions held in Shurmer Gymnasium: during halftime of both the women’s and men’s game and between the two games. Game times are 6pm for the women and 8pm for the men.

Tickets to the receptions and game are $12.00 each and include hors d’oeuvres, beverages and a seatback ticket to the women’s game and the men’s game in Acker gym. Tickets for the receptions only are available for $7.00 each.

This event is sponsored by the Chico Chapter of the CSU, Chico Alumni Association and is open to everyone (you need not be an alum). For more information, or to order tickets, please call the alumni office at 530-898-6472. There are a limited number of tickets available, so order yours now.
