New Mileage Reimbursement Rate for State Travel

Effective for travel on or after January 1, 2008, the rate of 50.5 cents per mile will be used to reimburse State employees for the use of their privately-owned vehicles while conducting university business.

The mileage rate for moving/relocation purposes established by the IRS has been changed to 19 cents per mile driven. Relocation mileage reimbursed at a higher rate will be subject to income tax reporting and withholding.

For complete information, refer to HR 2007-20 letter issued by the Chancellor’s Office which may be found online.

The reimbursement rate of 48.5 cents per mile for private vehicles should be used for mileage expenses incurred up to and including December 31, 2007. Please remember to use the appropriate rate when completing your Travel Expense Claims.

A revised Travel Expense Claim form will be available by January 14, 2008 at the web site. In the meantime any travel occurring in January will need to be manually calculated on the Travel Expense Claim.

Time: 1pm - 2pm
Place: Online (If unable to attend live, an archive will be made available)

The heart and soul of many online courses is the discussion area. To register for the session, go to the web site.
