CSU, Chico Once Again on National Honor Roll for Civic Engagement

California State University, Chico has once again been designated as a member of the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction. This honor, the second in a row for CSU, Chico, highlights the University’s civic engagement activities during 2007.

In 2006, the year the community service honor roll program was launched, CSU, Chico was one of 10 schools to be a finalist for the President’s Higher Education Community Service Award for Excellence in General Community Service.

“The fact that we have been named to the Honor Roll with Distinction two years in a row demonstrates a national effort to recognize the type of work Chico State students have always seen as important,” said Deanna Berg, CSU, Chico director of civic engagement. “Community service programs such as CAVE and CLIC have been at CSU, Chico for over 40 years. The students who run these organizations deserve to be highlighted at the national level.”
