Organic and Grass-Fed Ground Beef Sales: College of Agriculture
The College of Agriculture is now providing Organic, Grass-fed and a Grain-fed variety of ground beef to the campus community. The beef was raised locally at the CSU, Chico Agricultural Teaching and Research Center by CSU, Chico agriculture students. Orders can be made online and the beef will be delivered to your campus address or you can pick it up on-farm every Friday.

Donate to Help Fight Cancer
You can help find a cure for cancer and maybe win a great prize …
Win a wine tasting and a night at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn ($500 value), or an office chair, or memberships at Chico Sports Club, golf games, Outlaw tickets, or gift certificates to Chico’s best restaurants, stores, and activities.
The University “Wildcats For A Cure” Relay For Life team is holding a raffle to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s research, patient services, and education. Tickets will be sold now until the Relay on April 26 at Pleasant Valley High. You need not be present at the Relay to win. To purchase tickets, e-mail Peggy Armocido or ask your nearest Relay For Life team member. $1 each; 6 for $5, or 15 for $10.
You can also honor a loved one who has had cancer by donating towards a luminaria candle that will join thousands of others surrounding the track during the relay, each with a name of someone who fought cancer. Suggested donation is $10. Contact Kathy Favor or any relay member for more information.

Spring into New Life Experiences, April 16
Enrich your life experiences by trying on a disability or two for 30 minutes. Student Council for Exceptional Children, Disability Support Services, the Office of Diversity and EnACT Faculty Learning Community are offering faculty, staff, and students an opportunity to gain new perspectives about disabilities and individuals with disabilities. Come and learn about diverse disabilities, gain personal experiences with individuals with disabilities. Better yet, encourage your students to participate in this meaningful event.
This event will be on April 16, Wednesday, 10 AM to 2pm, BMU 210. Refreshments will be provided. Please contact Dr. Hsuying Ward or the Director of Disabilities Support Services, Ms. Sandy Parsons.

Department of Art faculty Eileen Macdonald hosts Re-Group, an exhibition that includes work by a group of eleven artists who come from a diverse range of geographic and cultural backgrounds. In 2000, the artists were all graduate students at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where they worked as a community engaging in dialogue about their ideas and practice. For this exhibit — their third together — each of the participants has been asked to create an artwork that relates to the theme “Place / Displace.”
Carla Resnick, a native of Vancouver, Canada, is a freelance photographer and graphic designer in Chico. She has been gallery director for the 1078 Gallery in Chico, board director and president of the Chico Art Center, and the gallery assistant for the Mendocino College Art Gallery in Ukiah. This exhibit is a selection of places and things in which carcinogenic materials are found.

Eco Fest this Saturday, April 19
AS Presents is proud to present the 26th Eco Fest on Kendall Lawn on Saturday, April 19, 2008. The performance will begin at 11am and last until 5pm. This show will be free to the public.
A community favorite for the last two decades, Eco Fest is a music festival dedicated to celebrating Earth month in Chico. The event will feature ten different music and dance performances, including Afro-Brazilian Samba favorites Samba Da. This day-long event will also include a sustainability question and answer panel, and environmental law conference, tie dye workshops, vegan food, and a variety of local green businesses. With no cost to the attendees, Eco Fest provides a variety of entertainment for everyone to experience.

Friday TILT Faculty Symposium: Topic Tutorials for Students Using Camtasia, April 18
This Friday, April 18 from 1pm - 2:30pm in MLIB basement, Studio A there will be a presentation of how faculty are using software called Camtasia.
The faculty members, listed below, will talk about how they use Camtasia to capture screen presentations, and/or computer demonstrations, and add voice-over to create tutorials that can live online with Blackboard Vista. Quoting AMIS Department Chair, Gail Corbitt, “Jim Mensching has even put Camtasia into the classroom with assignments, and is using it to move all of his course content online to allow for more discussion time in the classroom. So his courses use the technology to get more bang for the buck and students seem to like it.”
Come hear what Jim Mensching, Hsuying Ward, Colleen Hatfield, Denny Gier and Peter DiFalco are doing with Camtasia.
