Copier needs?

In connection with the move into the new Student Services building, University Printing Services is negotiating with our office copier vendor to obtain additional multi-functional devices (copy/print/fax) on a short-term basis for departments that need them. This not only affects departments moving into the new building, but those left behind in existing areas as well as those back-filling vacated offices.

We’ve realized there are departments outside the scope of the move we have not reached in regard to their office copier needs. If you are interested in obtaining an additional copier, please contact the Print Shop, x5992, and speak to Michelle Taylor by this Friday, May 30.

If you have already spoken with University Printing Services regarding your need for a copier you do not need to call again. (These additional non-fleet copiers will incur an additional cost for the departments that have them; we will not have a price available until we negotiate with the vendor. Indicating you would like one does not obligate you to accept one, however, we would like to provide the vendor with the most accurate number possible. This is a short-term rental period in effect only until a new office copier contract is established.)

Join the Annual Butterfly Census with Entomologist Don Miller

On Monday, June 2, Dr. Don Miller and the staff from the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve will be conducting the second annual butterfly count on the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve and surrounding areas. This is a national census effort under the direction of the North American Butterfly Association Butterfly Counts. Please see Web site below for details. If you wish to participate in this annual census, please contact Jeff Mott, Institute for Sustainable Development, x5010. You don’t need to be a butterfly expert to join the census but you will need to be prepared for a day of hiking and learning about these amazing insects.

Re: Emergency response exercise today

Today’s active shooter and rapid response exercise was conducted successfully. The occupants of Kendall Hall received a debriefing after it concluded. We appreciate the cooperation of everyone participating in this exercise. We will continue to develop our campuswide emergency plan and prepare for all emergencies that affect our community.

We also tested our new emergency notification system today. If you registered to receive a message from the emergency notification system and did not receive one, please call User Services at 898-6000. If you are not currently in the system, please go to the Web site and register. Thank you.
