New Procedures for Vehicle Reservations
Please be advised that beginning July 1, 2008, all vehicle reservations should be made directly through the Enterprise Rent-A-Car link. After extensive consultation with Staff and Faculty across Campus, negotiations with Enterprise Rent-A-Car (State contract) occurred to ensure that Campus needs will be met and to incorporate convenient options requested by Staff and Faculty.
We believe that the State Enterprise Rent-A-Car contract offers enhanced services at a very competitive rate. Enterprise representatives and Campus Staff will host the following workshops to provide information regarding services and procedures for reservation and use of vehicles:
DATE: June 3, 2008
LOCATION: CCE 107
Morning Session: 11:00 a.m.
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m.
Additional workshops will be available in August and September.
Pursuant to recent direction from Cabinet, information concerning travel reimbursement and options for the use of other vehicle rental agencies is currently being developed. This information will be provided by Financial Services in a future communication.
If you have any questions regarding the scheduled workshops, please contact Vehicle Reservations at Ext. 6117.

If you plan to be away for the summer or are taking an extended vacation, please help by picking miscellaneous items up off the floor of your office allowing the Custodians to do a thorough job of stripping and waxing. This will help them out and will help insure no personal items are damaged.

Bin Requests
There may be a time delay on any temporary bin requests made through AS Recycling. Due to the Student Services Center move-in, Graduation, and student move-out, we are currently low on large rolling bins. If you want to request one of these temporary bins for an office clean-out (or move), be sure to do so well in advance so that we can accommodate your request. Feel free to contact us at extension 5033 with any questions, concerns, or bin requests.

Recycling Shifts During Summer
Recycling pickups will be made throughout the summer months. We are currently readjusting some of our shifts so that we can accommodate the growing campus need. This may mean that some pickup days and times will change from this last semester. Another announcement will be sent out once the shift days have been finalized for the summer. Feel free to contact AS Recycling at X5033 with any questions or concerns.
We currently have a number of new staff. Please be patient and understanding during their training period. If you could point out any bins that staff missed during their shifts, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your commitment to recycle.

my/CalPERS Security Enhancements
On May 4, 2008, CalPERS added new security measures that will do more to minimize risk when conducting transactions on my/CalPERS. At the same time, they are adding new services to increase the site’s benefits. These enhancements will help protect the safety and security of members’ personal and confidential data.
These improvements do require all currently- egistered members to go through a quick mandatory security to their my/CalPERS account to enable the new security features.
The upgrade will allow more flexibility when selecting a Username and Password. CalPERS has also enhanced the process for resetting forgotten passwords, so members will enjoy additional safeguards consistent with industry practices and similar to those used by banking and other financial institutions’ Web sites.
The process to activate these enhancements is easy. Members will go to the my/CalPERS site. Employees will be able to enjoy the latest enhancements to the my/CalPERS Health Summary area, including the ability to view:
Additional details about their health benefits, information about family members enrolled in their health plan and plan-specific alerts about their coverage.
