Join the Annual Butterfly Census on Friday, June 6
On Friday, June 6, entomologist Don Miller, Department of Biological Sciences, California State University, Chico and the staff from the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve (BCCER) will be conducting the second annual butterfly count on the reserve and surrounding areas. This is a national census effort under the direction of the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) Butterfly Counts.
The NABA Butterfly Counts is an ongoing program to census the butterflies of North America (United States, Canada and partially Mexico) and to publish the results. Volunteer participants select a count area with a 15-mile diameter and conduct a one-day census of all butterflies sighted within that circle. You can find more details on NABA at http://www.naba.org/counts.html.

New Procedures for Vehicle Reservations
Please be advised that beginning July 1, 2008, all vehicle reservations should be made directly through the Enterprise Rent-A-Car link. After extensive consultation with Staff and Faculty across campus, negotiations with Enterprise Rent-A-Car (State contract) occurred to ensure that Campus needs will be met and to incorporate convenient options requested by Staff and Faculty.
We believe that the State Enterprise Rent-A-Car contract offers enhanced services at a very competitive rate. Enterprise representatives and Campus Staff will host the following workshops to provide information regarding services and procedures for reservation and use of vehicles:
DATE: June 3, 2008
LOCATION: CCE 107
Morning Session: 11am
Afternoon Session: 1pm
Additional workshops will be available in August and September.
Pursuant to recent direction from Cabinet, information concerning travel reimbursement and options for the use of other vehicle rental agencies is currently being developed. This information will be provided by Financial Services in a future communication.
If you have any questions regarding the scheduled workshops, please contact Vehicle Reservations at Ext. 6117.

Summer Delivery of Travel Reimbursement Checks
The mailing process for travel reimbursement checks is delivery to the campus zip of record unless instructions are given to hold the check in Cashiering. Anyone who is expecting a travel reimbursement to be processed during the summer months and does not expect to be on campus should attach a SAE to their Travel Expense Claim for mailing to a home or alternate address. Those reimbursement checks without an envelope, or instructions to hold the check for pick-up, will be mailed to the campus zip of record. Therefore, it is recommended, but not required, that SAE’s be included with the TEC for 10 and 11 month employees.
If you are requesting a check be held in Cashiering and you would like to be notified when it is available please attach instructions to your travel document with notification details.
If you have any questions please contact Travel Accounting at x5766.
