Chico Named to Top 10 List of Green Colleges

California State University, Chico has once again been named to an exclusive list of national schools leading the way in sustainability and environmental awareness.

The DailyGreen, a popular Web site that bills itself as “The consumer’s guide to the green revolution,” has featured CSU, Chico in a list of 10 top colleges and universities that includes Harvard University, Duke University, Middlebury College and Oberlin College.

Increase in Mileage Rates for Travel Effective July 1

Effective for travel dated on or after July 1, 2008, the rate of 58.5 cents per mile will be used to reimburse employees for the use of their privately-owned vehicles while conducting university business.

The current reimbursement rates of 50.5 cents per mile for private vehicles and 19 cents for relocation should be used for mileage expenses incurred up to and including June 30, 2008. Please remember to use the correct rate when completing your travel forms.

The Travel Expense Claim form has been revised and will be available no later than July 31, 2008 at the Web site.

Liberal Studies Advising Is Moving

Liberal Studies Advising is moving from our present office in Holt 101 to Tehama 211 on Monday, July 21.

We will be closed July 17 - 22 and hope to be back in business on Wed., July 23. Our main phone number will remain the same, x 5802, and individual staff phone numbers will remain the same too. However, we anticipate that we will not have phone service during part of the day on Tues., July 22. We will try to return phone calls and emails as soon as possible.

Psychological Counseling and Wellness - Name Change and Move to SSC 430

The student Counseling and Wellness Center will be moving from our present office in MLIB 141 to the new Student Services Center (SSC 430) on Wed., July 23. We will be open for service throughout our move. In addition to moving, we are simplifying our title to “Counseling and Wellness.” Our phone number will remain the same and is ext 6345.
