Campus to Implement New Parking Permit Dispensers

Parking Services is excited to announce the installation of new parking permit dispensers for hourly and daily permits. The new machines are easy-to-use, intuitive, and deliver improved benefits to parkers in our campus lots. The new dispensers accept cash, coin, and credit card and have state-of-the-art technology that will allow them to be more easily maintained and provide more consistent service. Additionally, they will offer the equivalent of an hourly or daily “G” permit that can be used in any “G” space on campus and are scheduled to be available for use by August 20, 2008.

For dispenser locations and more information, visit the Web site or contact Parking Enforcement at (530) 898-4809.

Increase in Hourly and Daily Parking Rates

Effective August 25, 2008, hourly and daily parking rates will be increased to $1.00 per hour up to a $5.00 per day maximum. Rates have not increased in eight years, during which time parking lot costs and inflation have steadily risen. The rate increases have been implemented to help subsidize these additional costs required to run campus parking operations.

How does this benefit those that use the lots? Campus parking facilities and their upkeep are not supported by taxpayer dollars, but are self-supporting. Users support maintenance of the parking lots through the payment of parking fees.

If you have any questions, please call the Cashiering Office at (530) 898-5936 or Parking Enforcement at extension (530) 898-4809.

Come see Michael McDonald in Laxson Auditorium,TONIGHT

Join Chico Performances as Grammy winning R&B artist Michael McDonald hits the stage at Laxson Auditorium, tonight at 7:30pm.

R&B icon Michael McDonald has been a fixture in American pop music for over three decades, from his time with the Doobie Brothers (“Taking It to the Streets,” “Minute By Minute,” and “What a Fool Believes,”) and Steely Dan (“Aja,”) to his Grammy winning “Yah Mo B There” duet with James Ingram. On tour to promote his newest album Soul Speak (a follow up to his recently released Motown albums) the five time Grammy-winner proves that age, at least for him, means not only gray hair, but an enduringly loyal audience who appreciates the Michael McDonald “sound”.

Tickets are $47 Premium, $42 Adult, $40 Senior, $30 Student/Child and are available at the University Box Office, 898-6333 or at the door for an additional $2 per ticket.

For more information please visit the Web site.
