Chico State Birding Club Meeting - Mon., Oct 13
Monday, October 13, 2008 Chico State Birding Club (CSBC) Meeting
Time: 5:15 PM
Location: Holt 268
In addition to regular agenda items, Biology Graduate student, CSBC member, artist and author Jackson Shedd will discuss “Birding and Herping in Southern Mexico.” Most of the photos were taken by Jackson, and he certainly will have adventures to share with the group.
Are you interested in avian natural history? Ecology? Biodiversity? Birding?
Do you want to learn more about birds? Do you want to practice with field identification of birds? Do field trips (both locally and beyond) sound like fun? If you answered YES to any or all of these questions, then join the CSBC!
There will also be a FREE raffle (that’s right, FREE!) for some super cool, bird-related items!
We are a group of students (both undergrad and grad), faculty, staff, and community members passionate about fostering an awareness of avian biodiversity and “birding” through monthly meetings and various outings. We welcome all levels of experience and/or background. We encourage beginners and experts and every level in between.

In a single generation, the Panchkhal Valley northeast of Kathmandu has changed from a largely subsistence economy to market production.
Facilitated by improving infrastructure, this change is affecting agricultural cropping patterns, family relationships and educational opportunities. Through slides from the area, Dr. Altier will describe the changing agricultural and social landscape.
