The CSU, Chico Band, under the direction of Dept. of Music faculty member Royce Tevis, and the Chico Children’s Choir of Chico will join forces, along with instrumental soloists, for a pre-Veterans Day special concert entitled Acclamations.
Although Acclamations takes place on Sat., Nov. 8 (at 7:30pm in Harlen Adams Theatre) — a few days before Veterans Day (celebrated Nov. 11 this year) — it will still have plenty of patriotic appeal.
The Children’s Choir of Chico, performing with instrumental accompaniment from the CSU, Chico State Band, will salute veterans by singing the well-known patriotic work, “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The Children’s Choir of Chico will also perform several American folksongs where audience participation is “strongly urged.” The CSU, Chico Band, and several smaller ensembles, will perform other compositions during Acclamations.
