Ellen Deering Endowment Fund, Call for Proposals for 2009/2010
In the late 1970’s, Ellen Deering established an endowment as a memorial to the C.E. Deering family. Her intent was to support research projects about the history of Northeastern California and the history of CSU, Chico, particularly the development and organization of the University Archives. Mrs. Deering required that copies of all projects funded from the Endowment be deposited in Meriam Library Special Collections.
Proposals for the 2009/10 competition should be sent to Carolyn Dusenbury/Deering Endowment Project Director/Meriam Library/CSU, Chico/Chico, CA 95929-0295. Applications must be received by or postmarked on May 1, 2009.
Proposals are reviewed by the Ellen Deering Committee. Successful applicants will be notified by June 15, 2009.
For Deering Endowment Fund information and guidelines, please contact Carolyn Dusenbury.

Property Management Quarterly Tips
Does your Department want to dispose of assets that are no longer working or needed? In accordance with the State Administrative Manual and Property Management regulations, all State and Foundation assets must be disposed of through the Property Management Office. Do not think E-bay, Craigslist or the local paper — call the PMO and see how we can help you.
A big thanks to all departments for contributing to the completion of the State Capital Property Inventory within the 36 month cycle limit. We appreciate your assistance with this very important task.
Remember, if you have a University laptop computer, a copy of the Off-Campus Use of State Property form must be on file with the PMO. This includes all laptops, whether taken off Campus or if they never leave your office or department. If you have any questions, contact Jason or Erika at ext 5176.

Northstate Public Radio Reaches Its Spring Drive Goal
Thanks to each and every member of the CSU, Chico Campus Community who helped Northstate Public Radio (KCHO 91.7FM, Chico & KFPR 88.9FM, Redding) celebrate its 40th Anniversary by successfully reaching its Spring Membership Drive goal of $135,000.
Over the 12-day drive, the station received over 1,200 pledges of support totaling over $110,000; funds raised ahead of time during our Silent Drive exceeded $20,000. Through our partnership with the CSU, Chico’s newly-named Gateway Science Museum (formerly the Northern California Natural History Museum), hundreds of listeners waived a standard thank-you gift and instead elected to send a child to the museum opening this fall.
Northstate Public Radio thanks all of the University and community ambassadors who visited the station during the drive as well as the scores of volunteers who helped with the phones and administrative tasks. Our greatest thanks go to each person who made a pledge of support to help the publicly-funded operation.
If you did not get a chance to make your pledge, you may reach the station at 898.5896 or you can make your pledge on-line at www.kcho.org.
