Summer Delivery of State Travel Reimbursement Checks
The standard mailing process for State travel reimbursement checks is delivery to the campus zip of record unless instructions are given to hold the check in Cashiering. In years past many travel reimbursement checks have been misplaced or lost over the summer months due to the absence of employees on 10 or 11 month assignments. Anyone who is expecting a State travel reimbursement to be processed in late May, or after, and does not expect to be on campus after the end of the term should attach a self-addressed envelope to their Travel Expense Claim for mailing to a home or alternate address. Those reimbursement checks without an envelope, or instructions to hold the check for pick-up, will be mailed to the campus zip of record. Therefore, it is recommended, that SAE’s be included with TEC’s for 10 and 11 month employees.
If you are requesting a check be held in Cashiering and you would like to be notified when it is available please attach a note to your travel document with a name and phone number to call.
If you have any questions please contact Travel Accounting at x5766.

Helicopter Drill
The Butte Interagency Rescue Group (BIRG), Air Operations Division will be conducting a helicopter drill at California State University, Chico utilizing the Butte County Sheriff’s helicopter. The drill will consist of flying rescuers from the Sports Stadium to the Butte Hall roof and back, using a short haul line extending from the helicopter. This operation would simulate a high rise fire, in which individuals would need to be evacuated from the roof.
BIRG will use the Sports Stadium as a landing zone due to its proximity to Butte Hall. In addition to Butte Hall being closed during the training exercise, the areas around Butte Hall will be barricaded with flagging, the landing zone will be secured, and notices will be posted requesting that the area not be used during the operation.
The date and time of the drill is scheduled for June 6, 2009, from 9am to 12noon.
