Shipping & Receiving's Summer Schedule

Beginning Mon., June 1, 2009 the Shipping & Receiving Department, along with the rest of the University, will begin the new 4/10 summer work schedule.

Shipping & Receiving will NOT be staffed on Fridays. As a result, it is imperative that Departments inform vendors not to attempt delivery of items to the Campus on Fridays. This factor becomes increasingly important in relation to temperature sensitive items that will require refrigeration or freezing.

Many vendors do not utilize companies with local shipping stations. The use of such carriers, when attempting a Friday delivery, will result in the truck drivers having a 3 day layover. In some such cases the customer will incur charges relating to the unexpected layover.

In order to prevent your department from incurring additional shipping charges vendors must be informed of the Friday Campus Closure at the time orders are placed.

Please feel free to contact Warehouse Operations at ext. 4320 with any questions or concerns relating to the 4/10 work schedule.

Summer Hours of Operation: Effective June 1 - August 14
Monday through Thursday 7am through 5:30pm
(Closed ½ hour for lunch from 12pm to 12:30pm)

Student Employee Administrative Access to CMS/PeopleSoft Disabled on Friday, May 29

As part of our on-going efforts to improve campus information security, we are making a change to student employee access to CMS/PeopleSoft. All student employee administrative accounts in CMS/PeopleSoft will be disabled after 5pm on Friday, May 29. Departments with students working over the summer can request that student employee accounts be re-enabled. This request must come via e-mail from the student’s supervisor to the appropriate security administrator (HR Security, SA Security or Financials Security) the week of May 26-29. The request needs to indicate that the student employee is working over the summer and therefore the account needs to be reinstated at the beginning of the work day on June 1.

If a student employee is taking the summer off, their account will be disabled. For those student employees returning in the fall to the same job and same position a form will be made available in August to reactivate the account. New hires for the fall semester will need to follow the normal security process.

Feel free to direct general questions regarding this change to Brooke Banks. Specific questions regarding CMS/PeopleSoft HR, Student or Financials security should be directed to the appropriate security group.
