Sears, Hooper named to Division II All-American Scholar Golf Team

Erin Sears and Shelby Hooper’s success on the course was certainly noticed this past season, but Wednesday their success in the classroom was also recognized - the two Chico State women’s golfers were honored Wednesday by being named to the National Golf Coaches Association’s (NGCA) Division II All-American Scholar Golf Team.

A total of 410 women’s collegiate golfers - 65 from the D-II ranks - earned the All-American scholar distinction, meeting the most stringent selection criteria in all of college athletics. Division II student-athletes were required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 while competing in 66 percent of their school’s regularly scheduled rounds during the season to earn NGCA All-American Scholar Golf Team honors.

Sears, a Business Accounting major, and Hooper, a Business Finance major, were the only California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) golfers from the just-completed 2008-09 season to be included on the national All-American Scholar Golf Team. This is the second straight year that Sears has received the honor.

New Signature Authorization Forms

As we prepare for the 2009-2010 fiscal year, Financial Services would like to remind you to update required forms as needed:

1. In an effort to become more sustainable and to streamline processes, Financial Services has combined three separate signature authorization forms into one document called the “Financial Services Signature Authorization Form”. This form replaces the Procurement & Contract Services Signature Authorization form, the Accounts Payable Authorized Signature form, and the Travel Accounting Signature Authorization Form previously required for approval of expenditure transactions. Please return completed form to Accounts Payable, zip 243. Instructions for completing the form and the form itself can be found at the Web site.

2. If your department manages Trust funds, it is necessary to update your “Agreement for Establishment of a University Trust Fund” annually. Please contact Melissa Taylor in Accounting Operations (X5851) to update your Agreement if it is signed prior to 2009 or outdated due to personnel changes.

3. The Authorization to use Privately Owned Vehicles on State Business form should be updated for your office. (This form is kept in department files.)

Tips, Tricks & Info for Campus Event Planning

As we are all attempting to adjust and survive the changing campus climate, we’d like to pass on some information to assist you in the planning and implementation of upcoming campus events.

Room Reservations
Contact Facilities Reservations with general campus reservation requests - E-mail: facilitiesreser@csuchico.edu or x6118. Requests are processed on a first come, first served basis.

Standard and Smart Lecture Rooms, and the General Conference Rooms in the Student Services Center, are scheduled in the current semester only, after the completion of the first week.

Special Services or Equipment
Complete a “Facility and Equipment Request Form - (FERF)” (located on the Facilities Reservations website - http://www.csuchico.edu/upe/facres) for all requests needing special services or equipment.*

*Please Note: The FMS Moving Crew has recently experienced a reduction in their workforce; therefore, to ensure proper scheduling, all FERFs will now require 10 working days advance notice for any requests needing special services or equipment.

General Information
Please visit the Facilities Reservation website (http://www.csuchico.edu/upe/facres). It is a great place to find information for all of your event needs - forms, maps, floor plans, parking information, barbecue areas, room info w/pictures and more.
