Register Now! Butte College Sustainability Conference

Butte College is hosting its 3rd Annual Sustainability Conference August 13-14.

This year will focus on Green Schools, Green Economy, and Green Energy. As a co-sponsor of this event, The Institute for Sustainable Development is able to offer CSU, Chico faculty, staff and students the opportunity to attend at a reduced rate of $32 for both days (or $16 for just one).

To view the conference program and to register please visit their web site but make sure you indicate that you are from CSU, Chico to get the discounted rate. The deadline to register is August 1.

New Cashiering Miscellaneous Receipts Procedures

In order to standardize the receipting process for miscellaneous revenue receipts and abatements, all departments will be required to use a new receipting document when presenting items for cashiering personnel to receipt. The new form can be found on the Accounting Forms or the Student Financial Services Web pages.

Cashiering will no longer be accepting department-produced receipt instructions, handwritten notation on checks, etc., effective August 1, 2009. Please contact Suzy Littrell at x4195 in Cashiering (Student Financial Services) or Melissa Taylor at x5851 in Accounting Operations with any questions.

Self-Defense Program for Women, Aug. 3-6

ATTENTION STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF: The University Police Department will hold a summer R.A.D. class August 3 through August 6. (The July 27 - 29 class is full, but participants can ask to be placed on a waiting list.) R.A.D. is a self-defense program designed specifically for women that integrates risk reduction strategies with physical defense techniques.

The hours are 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each night in Yolo Hall #109. R.A.D. is offered at no cost to participants. For more information, please contact Detective Corinne Beck at x6512 or via e-mail. For more information on R.A.D., please visit the UPD Web site.
