New Grant Resource Center Deadlines Posted

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has posted new deadlines from the Grant Resource Center (GRC) on the RESP Web site. There are funding opportunities in the areas of Health and Mental Health, Science and Engineering, Education and Human and Community Development, Arts and Humanities. Please review all the funding categories. There may be collaborative or cross-disciplinary programs described in fields other than your own. New deadlines are posted monthly.

Check out the latest deadlines at the Web site. If you don’t find a funding opportunity that matches your need, please contact Marcia Buie who will be happy to help you run a funding search through the GRC.

Community Book in Common

The Soloist, this year’s community book in common, explores many themes - homelessness, mental health issues, friendship, the healing power of music - and opens the door to discussion of many others - ethics in journalism, power of an individual to have an impact on others, and family/relationship dynamics. Several community partners have joined with this book selection and we are looking for faculty and staff who would like to participate. If you see a role for yourself - using the book in class; setting up a reading group; joining the speaker’s bureau; doing a workshop; presenting a symposium - please contact one of us for more information: Bill Loker, Thia Wolf, or Brooks Thorlaksson. We also have a Web site that you can check for updated calendar, resources, etc.

Happy reading.
