Come watch movies and explore the world of disability in physical activity. This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn about disability in film and physical activity. The experience will provide students an in depth look into the portrayal of individuals with disabilities in film and media and how this does or does not coincide with societal views and values, education, physical education, politics, individual and group behavior.

Chico World Music Festival, Sept. 19

Information on the Chico World Music Festival is now posted on the Chico Performances Web site.

The Chico World Music Festival is FREE and open to the public, and will be held on Sat., Sept. 19 and Sun., Sept. 20 at Chico State.

Retirement Celebration for Diana Parks, Sept. 1

Please join the School of Graduate, International, and Interdisciplinary Studies in honoring Diana Park’s many years of service to CSU, Chico by joining us at her retirement celebration. The reception will be held Tues., Sept. 1 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in The Turner Museum Gallery in its new home on the first floor of the Meriam Library. Refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.

Staff and Supervisor Furlough Information Sessions

Staff Human Resources Management will be hosting several furlough information sessions. These sessions will offer information regarding furloughs, a review of frequently asked questions, and updates as they become available. Supervisors and administrators (including directors, department chairs, program managers, coordinators and staff who supervise other employees) are encouraged to attend a special session next week on September 2.

Sessions next week include:

• Staff Furlough Information, September 1, 2009 (Tues), 2:30pm -4pm in PAC 144 (Adams Theatre)
• Furlough Information for Supervisors and Administrators, September 2, 2009 (Wed), 1pm - 2:30pm in Holt Hall 170
• Staff Furlough Information, September 3, 2009 (Thur), 2:30pm - 4pm in PAC 144 (Adams Theatre)
