University Box Office Now Has Online Ticketing

California State University, Chico is pleased to announce the University Box Office is now online. Recently installed software allows real-time purchases online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. From home or office, visiting www.chicostateboxoffice.com any time of the day will allow customers to pick favorite seats, purchase tickets and print their own tickets.

“The addition of online purchasing provides a convenient way to purchase tickets any time while reducing traffic and parking concerns for the Box Office patrons,” said Director of University Public Events Dan DeWayne. “During the last couple of weeks, the Box Office has been operating on a soft roll-out of the new system, and they have not experienced any problems. In fact, patrons who have taken advantage of the service have commented about the efficiency and smooth operation online sales provides.

“We anticipate many folks choosing to purchase online for all University programs, including the School of the Arts student and faculty performances, Associated Students programs, Chico Performances events, alumni activities, some athletic competitions, and all other University Box Office ticketed events,” said DeWayne.

Humanities Center Tertulia: Asa Mittman, HC's "Memory, Nostalgia, Ruins" theme, Sept. 10,

Sept. 10
4pm - 5:30pm
Trinity 100 and 126

Asa Mittman, Art History and Humanities Center Board
“A Ruin of a Book: Looking at the Damage to the Beowulf Manuscript”
Introduced by Harriet Spiegel, English*

The Wonders of the East in the Beowulf Manuscript was badly burned in a fire in Ashburnham House on October 23, 1731, with losses to texts and images. Given the unusual, unpredictable nature of the images in this manuscript, reconstructing what was lost is in some cases impossible. How, then, do we read these images? This talk will examine the tension between our desire to make declarative statements about the work, and about the past, and our simultaneous resistance against this practice.

  • Part of the Humanities Center’s year-long theme, Memory, Nostalgia, Ruins. Call x5122 for questions.
