Temporary Alteration in Campus Announcements Schedule and Process
As the year progresses and as Public Affairs and Publications staff time is reduced due to furlough schedules, revision to the publication of daily Campus Announcements will reflect staffing shortages. Notification of days that Announcements will not come out will be sent out during the weeks that are affected.
In the coming week due to staff furloughs, Campus Announcements will not be issued on Friday, Oct. 9.
And on Monday, Oct. 12, a shortened version of announcements will be issued to include only time-sensitive items for Monday and Tuesday.
Campus Announcements will include notification of changes prior to those days affected.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Braden at x4263.

Faculty Internal Research Grants
Internal research grants are wonderful opportunities to advance your research and creative activities. Unfortunately, this year’s programs for reimbursed time and/or operating expense grants have been significantly reduced because the Chancellor’s Office did not fund the CSU Research/Creative Activities awards. This was quite a disappointment to those of us who administer this program because we know how valuable this support is to faculty.
We were able to secure one-time Research Foundation funding to support faculty who had been awarded the CSU Research grants for AY 09/10; however, we will not compete this award again until it is funded, hopefully, during the 2010-2011 academic year.
What We Will Compete
Two internal research grant programs will be competed early in spring semester 2010 to support faculty during summer 2010 and fall 2010:
1. Faculty Development: Four awards for replacement rate course buy outs or operating expenses are available for fall 2010.
2. Research Foundation Scholars’ Program: Four awards for replacement rate course buy out for fall 2010 and five $1,000 travel/operating expenses awards for summer 2010 will be available.
Applications for these awards are due to RESP on: Friday, January 22, 2010.
Follow the instructions found at the Internal Research Grants on the RESP web site.
