FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Student Health Services Donates $10,000 Pedro Douglas, director of Student Health Services, said that the contribution is in support of the university's commitment to addressing the problems of student abuse of alcohol and drugs. "This is our way of recognizing the important work that CADEC does to educate students about the effects of alcohol and drug abuse. It is also our way of supporting Vice President Paul Moore and the division of Student Affairs' commitment to addressing the problem. We are part of that division and want to join in their efforts," said Douglas. CADEC is a program designed to help students achieve well-balanced lifestyles and to change the attitudes of students toward the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs. The program sponsors awareness campaigns, uses peer educators to conduct workshops on a variety of alcohol and drug topics, maintains a resource library and offers support for students. ###
