FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Music Industry Students Sponsor Benefit Concert for Victims of Sept. 11 Tragedy California State University, Chico chapter of the Music & Entertainment Industry Student Association will host a benefit concert, Funk for a Better Future, tomorrow, Oct. 2, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Free Speech Area on the CSU, Chico campus.Donations will be accepted throughout the show to raise money for the Silver Shield Foundation, an organization that was designed to give aid to the children of fallen fire fighters and police officers of the terrorist attacks. Soul Maze, a local funk cover band, will headline the event. Soul Maze made its Chico debut at the Nowhere X Nowhere music festival and has since played at venues such as La Salles and Plumas Pines.
