Chico Ballrrom Dance Changes
Hello dancers,
For all of you who love dancing at our events there are several updates and changes to our semester calendar.
The themes and lessons for the Secret Agent Dance (tango 9/30) and Black Tie (Waltz 11/11) will be switched - placing Secret Agent Dance on 11/11 and the Black Tie on 9/30. Dances begin at 9:00pm and continue through midnight, with Beginning and Intermediate Waltz lessons at 7:30. Cost is $2 Dance, $3 lesson, and $4 both. Also I forgot to include that The WestCoast workshop on 10/1 taught by Nick King will be in Yolo 213. It’s from 7-9pm and costs $5.
Also, we are adding another workshop on Sat., Oct. 1 from 7-9pm with Nick King from Sacramento. Nick has been competing in several different categories and places in the top five in all competitions. The cost will be $5 and will be well worth it.
The BDC live band event on Oct. 22 with the Fabulous Swing Kings will be playing in CSU, Chico’s Shrumer Gym from 7-10pm or later. The cost will be $5 for members and $8 non-members. This will be a rocking show and if you have never danced to a live band then come and find out what you have been missing. If you don’t feel comfortable dancing then feel free to come and enjoy the live band atmosphere.
I hope to see all of you at our next dance. It is themed Black Tie but does not require formal dress (but feel free to get creative or fancy). The Lesson will be Waltz for both intermediate and beginners. This will take place from 7:30 to 9 with a dance from 9 to Midnight. Cost is $3 for the lesson, $2 for the dance, $4 for both, and as always dressing in theme gets you $1 off. It will take place in Shrumer Gym on the CSU, Chico campus.
Additional E-mails will be sent for each event. Hope to see you there.

Manzanita Lake was formed when the avalanche that created Chaos Jumbles dammed Manzanita Creek. The lake is surrounded by willows, mountain alders, Jeffrey pines, white fir, and of course Manzanita. Most people have the opportunity to backpack or cross country ski around Manzanita Lake. Few however can claim they have paddled through her waters. Come with us as we explore the aquatic beauty of Lassen Park.
