The Northern California Natural History Museum is hosting two movies provided by the National Film Board of Canada in conjunction with the This Way to Sustainability Conference II. These films cover the general topic of climate change and focus on the arctic region. The films that will be shown:

Beginning Dreamweaver

The Beginning Dreamweaver MX workshop is for students who want to learn how to create a web page. This workshop presentation outlines the basic features and properties of the program. Students will learn how to define a site, set page properties, format text, and insert images. They will also learn how to publish their webpage to their student accounts.

Kindergarten Faire, Nov. 28
The Associated Students Children’s Center Child Development Laboratory, at CSU, Chico are sponsoring a free Kindergarten faire, open to the public.
Representatives from area kindergartens, including alternative, traditional, and private programs, will be present to offer information and answer questions about their educational programs.

Undergraduate Awards for Research & Creativity F06
Provost Scott McNall has announced that funds have been allocated for the fall 2006 Undergraduate Awards for Research & Creativity. These awards were created to support undergraduate students working closely with individual faculty members on student-designed projects.
Undergraduates with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or above are eligible for these awards. Students may apply for any amount up to $500. The awards must be used to defray expenses; they are not a salary and cannot be given as a stipend. They might be used for the purchase of supplies or equipment or for travel to professional meetings (in conjunction with a specific research or creative project).
The deadline for proposals for the fall awards is Mon., Nov. 6 at 5pm. Go to the Web Site to download an application.

The Recycling And Rubbish Exhibit — R.A.R.E.— is looking for two people to help teach kids the importance of the 4 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot. We are looking for someone to lead tours through our warehouse which houses over twenty hands-on interactive displays dealing with everything related to trash - RARE Tour Coordinator.
We are also looking for someone to give in-class follow-up compost workshops. For this position you would travel to the classroom and teach the kids how to build a worm bin for them to practice composting in their classroom - RARE Compost Workshop Coordinator. Must be good with kids, public speaking and love the planet, but not necessary to be a recycling or composting pro.

Anthony Cortese, President of Second Nature will give his keynote address in the BMU Auditorium at 7pm.

Felicity Barringer, Washington Correspondent (Environment) for The New York Times will give her keynote address in Laxson Auditorium at 4pm.
Sat., Nov. 4
There will be a locally supplied organic lunch sponsored by the Associated Students inside the BMU at the Common Grounds Cafe. Tickets for the luncheon are $12.00.
There will be a Real Food Dinner hosted by the Chico Food Network at Grilla Bites at 6pm at the Garden Villa location at 196 Cohasset Road. Tickets for this dinner are $25.00.
Reserved tickets will be available at the registration table upon your arrival but please pre-register if you plan to attend either meal event.

The Associated Students Late Night Chico teams up with recreation sports department to present a Midnight Climb on Nov. 4 at 8pm in Acker gym 141.
The midnight climb will allow students to scale the climbing wall in CSU, Chico’s very own Acker gym. There will be free food and refreshments and any number of people are allowed. Participants are told to wear appropriate clothing such as a breathable short or pants, t-shirt and tennis shoes.
