Conversations on Diversity: Who Floats Your Boat? Naming Sexual Identities, March 26
Facilitated by Dr. Liahna Gordon (Sociology) and Elizabeth Renfro (Multicultural and Gender Studies)
What is a sexual identity? Does it describe your past actions, current desires, or future decisions? Is sexual identity based on fantasy, attraction, behavior, or love? Can sexual identities even be named with any accuracy? And what are the consequences of claiming, or not claiming, a sexual identity?
Please join us in BMU 210 Wednesday, March 26, from noon to 1 pm for our COD as we will discuss the wide range of meanings and forms of “sexual identity,” as well as the personal and political implications of alternative ways of naming sexualities.
Beverages and snacks will be provided. Please contact Tray Robinson in the Office of Diversity (898-4764) for more information.

CSU, Chico Once Again on National Honor Roll for Civic Engagement
California State University, Chico has once again been designated as a member of the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction. This honor, the second in a row for CSU, Chico, highlights the University’s civic engagement activities during 2007.
In 2006, the year the community service honor roll program was launched, CSU, Chico was one of 10 schools to be a finalist for the President’s Higher Education Community Service Award for Excellence in General Community Service.
“The fact that we have been named to the Honor Roll with Distinction two years in a row demonstrates a national effort to recognize the type of work Chico State students have always seen as important,” said Deanna Berg, CSU, Chico director of civic engagement. “Community service programs such as CAVE and CLIC have been at CSU, Chico for over 40 years. The students who run these organizations deserve to be highlighted at the national level.”
