Student Loan Exit Interview Required for Departing Federal Loan Recipients
If you received a Direct and/or Perkins student loan while attending CSU, Chico, and are not planning to enroll as at least a half-time student for the up-coming term, you need to complete an ‘Exit Interview’ within 30 days of your last day of enrollment.
The Exit Interview provides information about your rights and responsibilities as a borrower, payment options, and offers information about loan consolidation. It also collects information about you to insure prompt accurate billing and deferment.
Direct Loan borrowers are urged to do their exit interview on-line at www.dl.ed.gov. You will need to have your U.S. Dept. of Education ‘Personal Identification Number ’ to view your loans and to complete your exit interview. You may request your ‘PIN’ at www.pin.ed.gov. Direct Loan borrowers may also use this PIN to access, monitor and up-date accounts on-line, to make payments or request deferments. A Direct Loan exit pamphlet will be sent to you if you do not complete the online exits.
If you received a Perkins Loan in addition to your Direct Loan, separate interviews are required for each, contact the Student Financial Services Office on campus at 530-898-6083 to arrange for an on-line Perkins Loan Exit Interview. The Perkins Loan Exit Interview needs to be initiated by campus staff at our Perkins Loan Servicer’s web site, www.ecsi.net. Our staff will also provide you with on-line access instructions.
