Help your student register for classes

At CSU, Chico students request classes via an online registration system, the Chico State Connection (CSC) portal. Students have several opportunities to register for courses.

Priority Registration

Each student is assigned a priority registration date. This is their earliest opportunity to enroll in their desired classes. This period lasts about a month. Students can view their enrollment appointment in the portal via the Student Center.

Open Registration

A few weeks before the new term begins, registration will open for approximately one week. Both current and new students can access the registration system at this time.

Add/Drop Period

All students who have paid fees, or accepted a financial aid award, can access the registration system for approximately one month. This period begins two weeks before the new term begins and ends two weeks into the semester. Advise your student to be persistent! Students should print and fill out the Registration Worksheet (located in the class schedule(opens in new window)) completely prior to accessing registration.

We recommend that students:

  • List courses in order of priority (list courses that have fewer seats first!)
  • List more courses than desired, in case some choices are not available. A good strategy is to fill each slot on the worksheet.

Advise your student to be persistent! Students should visit the Student Records & Registration page(opens in new window).
