Albert E. Warrens Reception Center

The A.E. Warrens Center is a residential structure designed by Julia Morgan, and constructed in 1923. The Warrens Center project site is located at 341 Mansion Ave on the north edge of the campus and is scheduled to begin May 2016.

The Warrens Center will undergo a ‘refresh’ to bring back the building’s historic character and enhance it for event use. The work will include improvements to the house and the grounds. The interior of the house will receive new paint and lighting, and upgrades to the kitchen, as well as the removal of the elevator, which will bring the study back to its original (historic) use. The exterior of the house will receive a new front door that fits the historic character of the house, repair of windows and doors, paint, and a new outdoor patio area and landscaping and a new fence. The work to the house was approved by the State Historic Preservation Officer for compliance with guidelines related to state historic resources.

The Warrens Center project was shared last spring at the University Budget Committee and the Campus Planning Committee meetings. The project is being funded with Non-State Campus funds.
