Frequently Asked Questions:

Where can I get the forms I need to complete the recruitment packets?

All forms can be obtained by accessing the Human Resources website at http://www.csuchico.edu/hr/facultyrecruitment.shtml.

Is the Minority and Women Doctoral Directory (MWDD) something that can be accessed online or do I have to get it from the Office of Employee Relations?

At this point the directory is only accessible through the Office of Employee Relations. We will gladly make copies of the pages needed for the necessary field of need.

When I turn in completed forms during various phases of the recruitment process, how long will it take for me to receive word from the OER on it's approval or denial?

The Office of Employee Relations attempts to keep turnaround time to a minimum but there are factors that we are unable to control that may lengthen the time between submission and return. Those factors include delays in obtaining final approval from the Provost or Vice Provost of Human Resources, or incomplete or inaccurate information on the recruitment forms. As soon as the paperwork is signed, OER will call or email the department secretary, the search committee chair, college secretary, department chair, and college dean to alert them of authorization status and when they can expect their copy back.  It is recognized that delays in the recruitment process may result in the loss of desired candidates.  Therefore, OER is committed to processing documents as timely as possible.

Who signs recruitment packets?

The Provost signs all Tenure-Track recruitments and the Vice Provost for Human Resources signs all Full-Time Temporary recruitments packets.

Should I call the Provost or Vice Provost for Human Resources if I have a question about the recruitment process or a particular recruitment that I have submitted?

No, Tami Toon, is the main contact point for all faculty recruitment questions and/or issues. We will consult with others as necessary to answer all questions posed to us.
