Lecturer

I'm a native Californian who grew up in southern California and was part of the 8th graduating class at U.C., Irvine in 1973. I did my graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle. My primary focus in graduate school was in analytic philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and applied ethics, I happily joined the faculty at CSU, Chico in 1977. Working in this department has been a joy because of the students and the goodwill of the rest of the members of the philosophy dept. I even met the person who became my husband here on the faculty. Since joining CSUC my teaching focus has been on introductory courses, particularly logic and critical thinking. I also teach introduction to philosophy, personal values, and reason and religion. Many years ago we had a course on paranormal phenomena which was fun to teach. There is nothing better than being in a class where we're all interested in the material and all involved in discussion. It's wonderful to see philosophy in action.
