Faculty & StaffAnne Morrissey, Lecturer
(M.A. University of Washington, Seattle)
I'm a native Californian who grew up in southern California and was part of the 8th graduating class at U.C., Irvine in 1973. I did my graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle. My primary focus in graduate school was in analytic philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and applied ethics. I happily joined the faculty at CSU, Chico in 1977. Working in this department has been a joy because of the students and the goodwill of the rest of the members of the philosophy dept. Since joining CSUC my teaching focus has been on introductory courses, particularly logic and critical thinking. I also teach introduction to philosophy, personal values, and reason and religion. Many years ago we had a course on paranormal phenomena which was fun to teach. There is nothing better than being in a class where we're all interested in the material and all involved in discussion. It's wonderful to see philosophy in action.
