SYLLABUS

In this semester's Logic and Critical Thinking (PHIL 002, Section 21), we will be reading Jacob Needleman's The American Soul: Rediscovering the Wisdom of the Founders as well as Moore and Parker's Critical Thinking. Our focus will primarily be on techniques of logic and critical thinking, as the course title suggests, but we will also have a strong secondary agenda of learning to thinki in some of the categories that were important to the founders of the American democracy.

Sample Analytical Essay on the Case of Brian G.
Note: This is a "B" essay. It does most things right, but is not always as clear, complete, or precise as one would want. It does exhibit a generally correct form and style of analysis.
