Assessments We Offer

Assessments are a way for you to find your personality preferences, interests, values, skills, and preferred lifestyle. We offer several types of standardized assessments including

You can also use the free career assessment software online called DISCOVER. You need to pick up a login code in our office prior to logging onto this site. This program will match you with several occupations and majors based on your answers and allow you to explore them also.

    Hollalnd's Theme Codes - John Holland's RIASEC Codes correspond to your results from the Strong Interest Inventory. The following links to Holland's codes will offer descriptions of personality characteristics, possible occupations and majors at CSU, Chico for your consideration.

Career Assessments on the Internet - most are free

  • Keirsey Temperament Web Site Direct link to the Keirsey Character Test (gives Myers-Briggs results). Gives good links to related sites.
  • Career Mapp Assessment -an assessments that identifies interests and talents related to the world of work and genenerates a list of top ten career titles.
  • Undeclared Major Handbook (Minnesota State University) - This assessment will help you identify the lifestyles you would like your career to provide.
  • Personality Tests - Over 30 different personality tests. Everything from IQ to Keirsey, some are fun some are more serious.
  • Utne Reader Online -Answer a few questions to find your emotional I.Q.
  • Self-Assessment Career Survey - Simple test concerning interests, aptitudes and experiences. Gives immediate test results with direct links to jobs in the fields of interest for the test-taker.
  • Career Planning - Job Search -provides a sample self-assessment exercise to help you determine your job personality using Holland's codes and explains what it all means.
  • The Career Interests Game - Allows users to match their skills and interests to similar careers. Uses Holland's Codes. Gives direct links to career descriptions.
