Stanford University, B.A. in Social Science, graduation cum laude- in 1959.
San Francisco State College, general Secondary Credential in Social Studies, 1962, Dean's List.
Claremont Graduate School, Ph.D. in International Relations, 1971. Ph.D. qualifying exams (in international politics, international economics, political geography, Asian comparative government and Southeast Asia area study) passed
"with distinction." Ph.D. language exams passed in French and Indonesian/Malay.

Social Studies Teacher (Geography and Psychology, plus Swim Team Coach), Clayton Valley High School, Concord, CA.,
1962-63.
Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor of Political Science (with a secondary teaching area in Social
Science) at California State University, Chico, from 1967 to present.
Social Studies Teacher (Anthropology, Comparative Economic Systems, Comparative Political Systems, World History, and
Contemporary Problems) at the Joint Embassy School, Jakarta, Indonesia, 1975-77 (on leave from CSU, Chico).
Co-Director, Semester on the United Nations Program, Drew University, Madison, New Jersey (this class spent two days per week at the U.N. in New York City), Fall Semester, 1984 (on leave from CSU, Chico).
