| Chico Consumer Protection Agency (CCPA) assists clients by answering questions in the following areas of Consumer Law: fair debt collection, bad checks, contracts, bankruptcy, credit cards, Lemon Laws, warranties, small claims court, collection after a judgment, credit reports/repairs, assisting in starting small businesses and liens. |
| County Jail Law Project (CJLP) provides information to inmates incarcerated in Butte County Jail. Trips are made daily, and interns help to provide inmates with the best possible legal information. Interns work directly with the inmates through interviews, follow-up research, and contacting them with answers to some of their questions. |
| Disabled and the Law (D&L) is an advocacy group that represents the disabled persons before the Social Security Administration in administrative law. |
Environmental Advocates (EA) is comprised of interns who share a concern for environmental quality and a willingness to work toward safeguarding the environment. EA promotes environmental quality through education and advocacy and interns are actively involved in local, regional, and global issues.

| Family Law assists clients in completing and filing the following types of forms: dissolution, legal separation, order to show cause (for custody, visitation, or support issues only) and paternity. The program also provides information regarding, summary dissolutions and other family law issues. |
Housing Law student interns conduct interviews with both tenant and landlords. CLIC’s housing law interns also answer questions relating to tenants rights and responsibilities. Some of the most common problems that are encountered are evictions, defective or inhabitable dwellings, and security deposit problems. |
Penal Law interns visit Susanville and other California Department of Corrections (CDC) institutions and provide legal information on Writs of Habeas Corpus, administrative appeals, Three Strikes cases, sentencing, and any other aspect of criminal law dealing with state prisoners. |
Student Law Services/ Juvenile Rights (SLS/JR) assists in informing CSU Chico students of their rights and responsibilities on campus, as well as acting as their advocates in all campus related areas. These areas include the Formal Grievance Procedure, Student Disciplinary Process, and grade disputes. The Juvenile Rights sector of this program works to educate the youth of the surrounding areas through class talks, direct service, and the Mock Trial Program.

Traffic Law interns assist with all traffic related violations such as speeding, parking or running stoplights or signs. Traffic Law interns also provide assistance with DUI’s, noise violations, MIP’s fake or altered I.D.’s and any other alcohol related violation. |
Welfare Rights Organization (WRO) interns provide quality legal information and assist clients at Administrative Law Hearings. We provide assistance to families regarding AFDC, Medi-Cal, Cal Works, and emergency aid by efficiently utilizing all available resources. Our focus is to enhance economic stability, safety, health care and serve populations with special vulnerabilities. |
| Women’s Law interns handle harassment and domestic violence restraining orders. Information is available for a variety of domestic violence situations. |
Workers’ Rights Program (WRP) informs employees and employers about their legal rights and responsibilities. The WRP primarily deals with information concerning unemployment insurance, worker wrongful termination/discharge, hour and wage disputes, working conditions and discrimination in the work place. We are also an advocacy program representing clients at EDD hearings, and labor commission hearings |
