Professor Caudill is a recent transplant from Texas.  He earned his Ph.D. in Criminology from the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas.  His previous experiences as a juvenile corrections officer and juvenile probation officer have provided a foundation for his juvenile justice research.  Additionally, he was a research fellow at the Caruth Police Institute, the leadership training and research component of the Dallas Police Department for approximately two years.  This opportunity has propelled Professor Caudill's police research agenda, including patrol strategies and police ethnography.  Collectively, his research agenda traverses the criminal justice system from law enforcement through corrections.
